On this week’s episode of New England Lacrosse Journal’s “Chasing The Goal” podcast, hosts Kyle Devitte and Jack Piatelli were joined by Queens University head coach Chris Panos.
The Royals are joining the Division 1 ranks from D-2 starting this spring. They will compete in the ASUN Conference after being a big part of the Southern Athletic Conference, which includes top 20 D-2 teams like Limestone, Lenoir Rhyne and Wingate.
Panos has been the head coach at Queens since the 2019 season and also served as an assistant coach for the 2017 and ’18 seasons. He has an overall record of 25-11 as a head coach.
Panos played his college lacrosse at Hofstra and then continued his playing career in the National Lacrosse League, where he built a 12-year career as a pro. He is also an assistant coach with the Greece National Team and the founder of Panos Lacrosse, which is “a premiere lacrosse organization specializing in superior training for young aspiring athletes.”
