On this week’s episode of New England Lacrosse Journal’s “Chasing The Goal” podcast, hosts Kyle Devitte and Jack Piatelli were joined by Dean College head coach Matt Schairer.
Schairer just finished his sixth season in charge of the Bulldogs. He guided Dean to its first-ever New England Collegiate Conference title and a 10-4 overall record in 2018 before the school moved to the GNAC.
Under his guidance, a number of student-athletes won All-Conference honors, and he was selected the NECC Coach of the Year. His squad fared pretty well in his first campaign in 2017, going 9-6 overall which had thrilling victories over Salem State and Regis College.
Prior to his time at Dean, Schairer spent two years as an assistant coach at Endicott College as well as two years as an assistant at UMass-Lowell.
