On this week’s episode of New England Lacrosse Journal’s “Chasing The Goal” podcast, hosts Kyle Devitte and Jack Piatelli were joined by former Cornell and Maryland standout Jonathan Donville.
Donville currently plays for the Cannons of the PLL and the Panther City franchise in the NLL. Last year he helped Maryland win the NCAA title against the team that he had been on for the previous four seasons, Cornell.
A native of Oakville, Ont., Donville grew up playing hockey and box lacrosse before transitioning to the field game before high school. He went on to play at Deerfield Academy before being recruited to join Cornell in his junior season.
He was drafted with the No. 1 pick of the 2021 entry draft by the expansion franchise Panther City Lacrosse based in Texas. As a rookie this season in the NLL, Donville had 90 points, the second-most on his team, and was named the NLL Rookie of the Week multiple times.
