Sometimes it can feel like we are still in the infancy of high school lacrosse, with some towns and schools recently starting programs and many still without one.
But Massachusetts has its fair share of high school lacrosse legends. Whether it's Bussy Adam at Newton North or recently retired Charlie Hardy at Reading Memorial, plenty of coaches have left the spot better than they found it.
Another Mass. high school lacrosse powerhouse coach is hanging it up this year. After 15 Hockomock League titles and more than 300 career wins, Lou Verrochi is stepping down at Franklin High School.
Not only did Verrochi held earn Franklin lacrosse the pedigree that it has today, but he also started the high school program back in 1998.
