The fourth time was the charm.
And so much more than that.
After the last three full seasons all ended the same way, with a loss in the NCAA championship game, fourth-seeded Boston College rewrote the ending, getting a record-setting day from attacker Charlotte North and timely goals throughout, leading the way to a 16-10 win over No. 3 Syracuse in the Division 1 women’s final at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md.
North, who entered the game with 96 goals to her name this season, matched the NCAA single-season record of 100 with a goal early in the second half that gave her team its biggest lead to that point, 12-8.
