MARLBORO, Mass. -- The best thing about recruiting showcases is that you can really tell what kind of player you're looking at if they play midfield.
There is nowhere to hide as a midfielder in a showcase. You have to do a lot of things -- you have to play offense, you have to play defense, you have to play on the wing (and sometimes you have to go take a face-off because your FOGO has a cramp).
As a result, it's easier to get the ball, play the ball, and either bloom or wilt under the pressure. There were so many midfielders that stood out at the Fall Classic Showcase over the weekend that they had to be split into two parts.
These are the top midfielders from the 2023 class.
