Fall Classic: How freshmen are adding optimism to champ UVA

The focus of the early parts of the Fall Classic over the weekend was on the men’s national teams for the U.S. and Canada.

But the best games of the event weren’t between those two squads -- they were between those two national teams and the defending NCAA champion Virginia, which featured some good talent from the region.

Though both games ended in defeats on the scoreboard, UVA’s performances were spirited and relentless. Only in the fall does a loss seem like a win. 

Four months from the start of new college seasons, these are the biggest takeaways.
