PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- When autumn rolls around, back to school marks a brand new chapter for so many. At Providence College, it’s no different for the Friars' lacrosse team.
“The main focus of our fall practices have just been getting used to each other,” said new head coach Bobby Benson. “With all new faces on our coaching staff and a lot of our players, it’s really just all about meshing culturally and schematically right now.”
Benson was named head coach of the Friars back in June after 10-year coach Chris Gabrielli resigned. It was another disappointing end to the season for PC, which finished fifth in the Big East with just one conference win, and a 6-8 overall record.
Despite the dispiriting recent history for the program, it’s full steam ahead for Benson’s team.
