If you’re in the Boston metro area next weekend and looking to watch some high-level lacrosse, the HEADstrong Foundation and Boston University have joined forces in a fall ball event at Nickerson Field featuring the school's men’s and women’s teams.
The HEADstrong Foundation has been involved with the lacrosse community for well over a decade.
Founded in honor of former Hofstra player Nick Colleluori, who passed away in 2006 from Diffuse large B-Cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, the HEADStrong Foundation’s main mission is to provide aid to the families of cancer patients through a number of initiatives.
“HEADstrong grants financial assistance, funds projects to improve the inpatient experience, provides meals and outlets of entertainment, delivers comfort kits, peer support, and most notably operates Nick’s House, a haven of comfort for families seeking comprehensive cancer care,” said HEADstrong’s Jen Hildebrand.
