A disappointing end to a season can stick with a team. Starting the year flatfooted or sluggish is a common occurrence for teams looking to shake their past shortcomings.
Boston University is not that team.
The Terriers, who finished 7-1 in the Patriot League and 10-4 overall, lost to Loyola in the Patriot League semifinals last May. Ranked 20th in the end-of-season Division 1 poll, BU looks to rise with the help of a boatload of returning fifth-year players.
The inaugural head coach of the program, Ryan Polley, who started with BU in 2012, knows that fall ball is just the beginning of their season's story.
