The first round of action in the MIAA boys lacrosse tournaments produced few surprises, but the brackets have set up a number of sectional quarterfinal battles Monday and later this week that should prove to be more explosive.
In Division 1 North, another match between two titans has been set. Fourth-seeded Acton-Boxborough defeated Waltham, 18-2, and No. 5 Lincoln-Sudbury bested Central Catholic, 14-2. The Colonials, remember, defeated L-S twice to end the regular season.
However, the third time could be the charm, as the Warriors look to have recovered their hunger for a championship, as the players have refocused after their end-of-the-year festivities.
