The calendar has turned to October, but the frenetic pace of college commitments continues.
According to laxrecords.com, more than 200 boys in the Class of 2022 have made commitments to Division 1 programs since the Sept. 1 first contact date.
That number includes more than 40 from New England, a number that has grown each week since early September.
The number is surprising to many observers, who felt that the current, COVID-19 impacted recruiting circumstances -- no in-person recruiting in Division 1 until at least Jan. 1, 2021 -- might slow down and stretch out the process, aside from the top prospects.
