Championship weekend brings many things to the table for lacrosse fans and players. It’s an ending to the season, but it’s also an opportunity to go out on the highest of notes by lifting -- or watching a team lift -- a championship trophy.
With the NCAA Division 1 men’s semifinals set for Saturday at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn., there is no shortage of players from New England who are poised to make a big impact.
No. 1 North Carolina takes on No. 4 Virginia in the first semifinal (noon), with No. 2 Duke then playing No. 3 Maryland (2:30 p.m.).
The winners will play for the national championship on Monday.
