While most prep school teams across the country were busy cataloging their gear and having their exit interviews, the Taft School boys were capping their season with a trip to GEICO High School Lacrosse Nationals in Washington, D.C., over Memorial Day weekend.
The Rhinos were invited to joined a four-team field composed of top prep teams from across the nation, including Georgetown Prep (Md.), St. John’s College Prep (Washington, D.C.) and Culver Military Academy (Ind.).
Taft defeated Culver, 10-8, in the semifinals in a controlled slow-burn of a game. The Rhinos would then improve on that performance with a 10-6 win against St. John’s College Prep.
The sibling duo of Jeffery and Thomas Ricciardelli would stand out on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball in both games.
