This will be Doug Worthen’s seventh and final season as the head coach at Middlesex School.
He said he is excited for both the season and the transition.
Worthen, who starred at Middlesex in the 1990s before going on to win an NCAA championship at Virginia, is stepping away from the program at the end of this season and will be replaced by another Middlesex alum, current Catholic Memorial (Mass.) High School coach Brian Foley.
“I can't imagine a more fluid and easy leadership transition,” said Worthen in a statement on Thursday.
