D1 women’s lacrosse is back: What to expect this weekend

The Division 1 women’s college lacrosse season is starting, and Boston College plans to begin with a busy schedule. The national runner-ups have a quick start to their 2020 season with two games in the next five days, including Saturday’s season-opening tilt against UMass that is the pick of the weekend in New England. Here are five games to watch in the region as the season commences.

SATURDAY

Boston College at UMass

The women’s college lacrosse season starts off with a stellar non-league matchup. UMass was just selected second in the preseason Atlantic-10 poll, with midfielder Stephanie Croke (Norwell, Mass.) and attack Kaitlyn Cerasi making the league’s preseason All-Conference Team.
