Harry Stanton is no stranger to building on success. The New Canaan, Conn., native arrived on the Wesleyan campus as an accomplished and athletic — but undersized — attackman.
"He came in as a smaller player when he first got here," said Wesleyan coach John Raba, the 2017 USILA Division 3 Coach of the Year. "He was always a dynamic shooter and scorer, but the physicality wasn’t necessarily there. Then he really got after it in the weight room. Lifting and conditioning was a key factor in him to have an outstanding junior year."
Stanton’s hard work in the weight room produced major results on the field. The two-time All-American led the entire nation last season with 86 goals, powering a potent Cardinals offense that scored 306 goals en route to a 20-2 season, in which they won their second NESCAC title and made a run to the NCAA semifinals.
