It was late spring a few years ago, and Anthony Rodriguez was a player without a prep school.
Growing up outside of Rochester, N.Y., he made his decision to take the prep route relatively late. He took a visit to Loomis Chaffee, which in those days was still trying to find its place in the New England prep landscape.
He liked what he saw, from the coaches to the campus to a team culture that he could identify right away. He enrolled at the Windsor, Conn., school as a repeat sophomore, catching the ascending elevator at the perfect time.
This season, as a senior and team captain, Rodriguez is one of the guys driving the culture, and trying to take the program to new heights.
