At Belmont Hill School, earning the chance to play four seasons of varsity lacrosse is rare.
How rare? In nearly 40 years of lacrosse at the school, fewer than a dozen players have made the varsity team as a freshman.
Defender Blake Brookes was one of them. Had this season not been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he would have entered his fourth season on the field, and achieving great success was on his mind.
