World Lacrosse has announced the new dates for the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship, which will now be held June 29 to July 9, 2022 in Towson, Md., on the campus of Towson University.

As many as 30 national teams are expected to compete in the event. The dates were confirmed by a unanimous vote of the World Lacrosse Board of Directors during its monthly meeting on Tuesday.

A dozen women with ties to New England have been named to the tryout pool for the U.S. National Team that will compete in that event. The tryouts, which were originally scheduled for last month, have been postponed indefinitely.
