The recently-completed Mustang Classic got us thinking about how many players from New England opt to play at top Division 3 schools beyond the region.
You'll always get players like Colin Minicus (Darien, Conn.) at Amherst or Matt Treiber (Medfield, Mass.) at Tufts, but the options are so diverse for college lacrosse hopefuls. As the recruiting tides come and go, dozens of locals end up playing in the Liberty League, Centennial Conference and elsewhere.
Mindful of that, we've taken stock of New England natives who are turning heads outside the six states we call home. Some are on national title contenders and represent the elite talent New England has to offer in D3.
Without further ado, here's our survey of 15 local standouts outside the region. The players are sorted alphabetically by last name.
