D2 Men: Merrimack, Saint Anselm pace preseason players to watch

New England Lacrosse Journal names its Preseason All-Division 2 team

The Division 2 national title hadn't returned to New England since 1994, when Springfield took home the trophy.

Thanks to Merrimack, that changed last spring, as the Warriors downed St. Leo, 23-6, before a largely-home crowd at Gillette Stadium. It also served as sweet redemption, since Merrimack narrowly fell, 11-9, the year prior to Limestone on the same stage.

That's all in the past, though, and the page has turned to the 2019 season. With that comes time to look ahead and preview what could unfold for New England's nine programs.

While the season doesn't get underway until late February, here's our take on top players to watch at each position. Our Preseason All-Division 2 team:
