If life went originally as planned, Conor Caffrey (Scituate, Mass.) would probably be playing college hockey right now.
He enrolled at Brewster Academy, a prep school on the shores of New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee, hoping to be a winger banging home goals and dishing out assists.
But as a sophomore, Caffrey found himself leaning more towards lacrosse. It sure helped that the Bulldogs were dominating the Lakes Region League with the likes of attackman Ryder Garnsey (Wolfeboro, N.H.), now at Notre Dame, and Matt Gilray, a former All-Patriot League long-stick midfielder at Bucknell.
"Seeing those kids, I never saw anyone play like them before," Caffrey, an attackman himself, said.
