CONN.: A Staples stunner, plus titles for Wilton and Weston

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The marquee matchup of the day -- and the most surprising result -- came in Class L.

The CIAC crowned three boys lacrosse champions at Sacred Heart University on Sunday, and when the dust settled, Staples, Wilton and Weston were holding championship trophies.

Staples not only beat Darien, 12-3, in the Class L final, it also jumped all over FCIAC champion and national power in the process, racing out to a 6-0 lead and 9-1 edge at halftime.
