This week it was announced that 3Step Sports officially acquired the Top Gun Fighting Clams and its youth contingent, the Top Gun Littlenecks.
The Clams are one of the country's oldest and most storied club programs. Founded in 2003, they have produced nearly 800 college players and over 50 college coaches. If you wanted to create a Mount Rushmore of New England lacrosse club teams, one mascot that would be carved into stone would be an anthropomorphic Clam with its fists raised.
“We were the first club to focus on college placement and that’s become our calling card,” said founder Justin Walker, who is entering his 22nd season as head coach at The Rivers School.
“It was groundbreaking and we’re really proud of it. We’re much more than a very competitive club. We’re a service for kids to help them to get into college.”
