Last weekend at the USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md., players from the three most prominent nations in lacrosse participated in a round-robin tournament to show off the newest version of the sport: Sixes.
For those of you unfamiliar with what Sixes is, it’s exactly what it sounds like. (Specific rules and more information can be found here.)
It’s not a coincidence that USA and World Lacrosse chose the USA, Canada and the Haudenosaunee Nationals to showcase their event party. Those three groups have their own talent pools to build teams from, and every single one of those players has played either box or field lacrosse at an NCAA or box lacrosse equivalent.
Most of the players were professionals.
