HOOKSETT, N.H. -- I was stopped as I tried to walk into the pressurized double-doors
"I'm sorry, no parents are allowed into the tryouts," said the teenage desk attendant.
"Oh, no -- I'm helping to evaluate," I said, repressing as much internal screaming as I could.
I had promised a few of my players from Hopkinton (N.H.) High School that I would attend their tryout for the 2025 4 Leaf lacrosse club team. I texted one of the team's directors, Scott Singer, to make sure that was OK and he asked if I wanted to help them evaluate some of the high school age groups.
