There’s no easy way to say this: Every single New England men’s lacrosse team -- in all three NCAA tournament divisions -- has a brutal draw.
Bryant and Vermont drew blue bloods in Division 1. Saint Anselm has a big rock in its path in Division 2. Even Tufts, which is regarded by many as the best Division 3 team in the nation, was denied a No. 1 seed as that honor went to RIT.
Instead of throwing rocks at the NCAA selection committee (which was considered as an option) we will instead break down the how and why of these dubious distinctions, division by division.
