On Monday, most high school programs across New England began their season.
While that may sound odd for some, for parents and coaches it’s a familiar refrain. The season doesn't begin with the first game; it begins with the first practice.
So, right now, there are three types of coaches: ones who are pleasantly surprised, ones who are shocked at how much work they will need to do, and ones who are just straight-up worried.
Most coaches fit into that third group, and have been there for a few weeks. And that’s mostly because one thing makes the new season real: the statewide coaches' meeting.
