There's always been a great divide between men’s and women’s lacrosse.
Some remark that the only similarity is the ball and the goal. Others draw parallels to stick skills, passing lanes, defensive concepts and/or goalie play. As a result, there is a common schism between fans of both games that happen to be drawn across gender lines.
However, the fact remains that both versions of the game are in a tier (or two, depending on whom you ask) below more popular sports like basketball and soccer.
Despite this, the NCAA men's opening round saw all eight games in succession, with four on Saturday, four on Sunday and no run-over, all airing on ESPNU.
