Hampton University announced on Friday that the school is suspending all spring sports competition in 2021, including men’s lacrosse.
This spring would have marked the debut season for new head coach Chazz Woodson, the former Brown University standout and professional player, who was hired on July 20.
"This decision was not taken lightly, but it was in concert with the announcement from the university to continue with virtual instruction for the spring 2021 semester," athletic director Eugene Marshall Jr. said. "I would like to thank our student-athletes for their hard work, dedication and commitment, both academically and athletically, while they're away from campus. I look forward to seeing them again soon because we truly miss them."
