Since the beginning of the class system in Maine boys lacrosse, the championship game in Class A has seen either the Brunswick Dragons or Scarborough Red Storm win. But this year — for only the third time since the two-class system was developed in 2006 — the Dragons and Red Storm faced off against each other for the crown.
After losing to Scarborough in last year’s title game, Brunswick exacted its revenge with an 18-17 victory in overtime to finish an undefeated season and beat the team that has won seven of the first 11 state titles.
