Wednesday is the day the CIAC state tournaments kick into high gear.
Though a handful of the top seeds across the four divisions earned byes into Saturday's quarterfinal round, most of the state's top teams in Class LL, Class L, Class M and Class S will be in action.
Every class has its tiers of state championship hopefuls -- the heavyweights, the contenders and the dark horses.
