Like in past years, the road to Division 1 for the region’s high school junior girls starts in Darien, Conn.
Since first contact was permitted on Sept. 1 (and even before that in the case of the military academies), seven juniors from the region have connected and made their college commitments. Four of them come from the renowned program at Darien High School, while two others play in the offseason for coach Lisa Lindley’s CT Grizzlies program.
Is this a special Darien junior class?
“My 2020 class was pretty stacked,” noted Lindley. “As these kids are playing more and more, they’re coming into me with more playing experience.
"But yes, the 2023 class is pretty talented.”
