The Vermont men endured a mercurial season in 2023.
The Catamounts finished with a perfect record in the America East during the regular season, but ran into a buzz-saw against Albany in the America East playoffs, losing 10-4 to a team that came in under .500. Out-of-conference losses to Syracuse, Brown, Harvard and Boston University booted them out of top-20 consideration.
Going into this spring, Vermont also has to contend with losing its defensive coordinator to Harvard, and two of its best players -- LSM Nick Alviti (New Fairfield, Conn.) and draw man Tommy Burke -- to the graduate transfer portal.
