Eighteen players from New England were part of four U.S. Select teams that competed at the Brogden Cup in Sparks, Md., over the weekend as part of the USA Lacrosse Fall Classic.
All four of those teams – the U-18 boys, U-16 boys, U-18 girls and U-16 girls – walked away with first-place trophies after each played four games against Select teams from Ontario and Haudenosaunee Nation.
The weekend event, which also showcased the men’s and women’s U.S. National Teams, spotlighted some of the brightest schoolboy and schoolgirl stars in the country, 88 in all who were chosen from a tryout pool of more than 1,200.
Here are some takeaways from the Brogden Cup.
