There were plenty of New England standouts at the NXT Nike Philly Fall Showcase, which was held over the weekend in Downingtown, Pa.
Some 240 players from the Class of 2022, 240 players from the Class of 2023 and 140 players from the Class of 2024 took part in the 12th annual event, which included an individual player showcase and team event.
Brendan Poirier was named the event MVP for the Class of 2023. The Rivers School midfielder from Marlboro, Mass., who plays club with the Fighting Clams, is projected to be a top Division 1 prospect by his coaches.
“A big, strong, tough and doggedly determined dodger, Brendan is a can’t-miss presence on the field,” said Fighting Clams president and coach Justin Walker.
