On Monday, the Boston Cannons announced their Championship Series roster -- and it includes a lot of familiar and new faces.
What is the Championship Series? Basically, it’s a tournament where four Premier Lacrosse League teams assemble rosters to play in modified Sixes rules that include a two-point line.
It is similar to the Olympic format that will be played in 2028 -- think box lacrosse, but with full-size nets, more scoring, quick restarts, and an extra incentive to bury a shot from distance thanks to the two-point line.
The tournament is set to take place on Feb. 14-19th in Springfield, Va. It will feature four PLL teams -- the Cannons, the Utah Archers, the Philadelphia Waterdogs and the California Redwoods.
