An expanded Major League Lacrosse schedule and contraction of three MLL teams means the Boston Cannons will get plenty of chances to see the other five MLL squads starting with Saturday’s season opener at the refurbished Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy, Mass.
Along with the shift of the season's start from April to June, the 16-game slate has the Cannons facing each opponent at least twice, with four games against both the Atlanta Blaze and Dallas Rattlers.
With so many changes across the league, it may take a bit to get reacquainted with opposing rosters, but traditional rivalries remain strong. Players who are new to the league are sure to get wrapped up in the heat of historical matchups quickly.
Here are five key dates to look forward to ahead of Saturday’s 5 p.m. opening draw.
