The Boston Cannons have announced that Sean Quirk will return as the club's head coach for the 2020 season. Entering his fifth season at the helm, Quirk is the longest-tenured active coach in Major League Lacrosse as the league gets set to celebrate its 20th year.
“I am thrilled to be back for my fifth season with the Boston Cannons, the most dedicated professional lacrosse organization in the world,” Quirk said. “We have been building the last several seasons, last year reaching the MLL semifinals. In 2020 our only goal as an organization, coaching staff and players is to win the MLL championship.”
Last season, Quirk led Boston to a 9-7 record and their first playoff appearance in his time as head coach. Quirk’s 2019 team jumped to a 3-0 start to a 16-game season, finishing the regular season in third place.
Last year's Cannons racked up a 9-7 record and earned the first playoff berth during Quirk's time as head coach. The team started the season 3-0 to start the season and finished the regular season in third place.
