The New England Black Wolves announced over the weekend they have acquired former Tufts standout John Uppgren, who is fresh off winning a Major League Lacrosse championship with the Boston Cannons.
The agreement is for two years. Currently Uppgren, a 2016 Tufts graduate who played on two Division 3 championship teams and ranked third all-time in D-3 scoring (418 points), is an assistant coach with the Jumbos.
The Black Wolves also announced the signings of Bailey Brown and Andrew Mullen, both players signing two-year deals.
Brown, a 6-foot-3 goalie, returns to the Black Wolves for his second year in the National Lacrosse League. He was acquired by New England with the 61st overall pick in the 2019 NLL Draft after playing for the Toronto Beaches in the Ontario Jr. A Lacrosse League from 2016-19.
