There was plenty to like about the Billerica Memorial (Mass.) boys lacrosse team before the season began.
The Indians returned talented players all over the field, including a loaded senior class with multiple guys committed to play in college.
Still, not many expected Billerica to be 16-1 and atop the MIAA Division 2 power rankings with wins against some of the best teams in the state, Monday’s 8-7 thriller against BC High the most recent.
“Honestly, I knew we were going to be good,” said senior captain Adam Priest (Endicott), “but I didn’t think we were going to be this good.”
