One game was a rout. The other two went down to the wire. But there are three girls lacrosse teams celebrating state championships in New Hampshire today, taking three different routes to get there.
On Tuesday, Bishop Guertin completed an undefeated season by dominating Pinkerton Academy in the Division 1 final, 20-3. Derryfield School outlasted Hopkinton in a 12-11 thriller in Division 3.
On Wednesday, Portsmouth rallied late to overtake Hollis-Brookline, 8-7, to claim its fourth straight championship in Division 2.
“I’m still on cloud nine,” said Portsmouth coach JoJo Curro on Thursday. “Just the effort the girls put in and what they had to do to accomplish it … I’m so thankful for the group of girls we had.”
