As the last hours of 2021 tick away, there is one group of players that needs to be looked back upon and appreciated.
The prep schools in New England almost didn't have a season -- again -- due to pandemic concerns. However, thanks to a lot of persistence the schools did manage to play through the spring and didn't have to extend their competition into the summer as the MIAA did.
That meant a lot fewer games, but that just mean that the games we did get were that much more intense and meaningful.
Deerfield, Taft and Brunswick rolled out teams with ludicrous amounts of talent on them. In that three-way battle for the top slot, Deerfield came out on top going undefeated through its whole season.
