The fog rolled in and the flight out of Nantucket was canceled.
But this wasn’t just any flight for Bailey Lower. This was the flight last summer that would point her and her mother toward Nashville, where she was planning to attend a camp at Vanderbilt and — hopefully — cement her college plans.
“That was terrifying,” said her mother, Jami. “At that point she knew that Vanderbilt was her first choice. This was the camp that was going to make or break her.”
Living on the island, the Lowers are used to making adjustments and changing gears, but could they change gears fast enough?
