In New England, it’s normal for standout players to head to prep school, specializing in a sport. Such was life for goalie John Wright (Keene, N.H.) during a spell at Wilbraham & Monson.
But heading outside the region? That’s certainly the exception, not the rule.
Yet here Wright is, honing his skills in net north of the border for The Hill Academy. The Ontario-based powerhouse was founded in 2006 by the Merrill family, with Salisbury School and Boston Cannon great Brodie Merrill long its public face.
To put it lightly, Wright, a senior and University of Delaware commit, is relishing the opportunity.
