Though there have already been a handful of games played in various leagues, many of the region’s top Division 3 men’s lacrosse teams will officially get their seasons started on Saturday.
It’s a list headlined by New England Small College Athletic Conference favorite Tufts, which will play the first of six scheduled regular-season games Saturday (2 p.m.) when it hosts Colby.
It’s a new-look NESCAC, where only eight of the 11 teams are having seasons, and there’s no doubt that the Jumbos are the team to beat, with nine of 10 players who were named All-Americans last year back in the fold.
