The men's coaching carousel has taken another turn in New England.
Less than a week after Chris Wojcik was dismissed as Harvard coach, Fairfield announced Wednesday that Andy Copelan has stepped down after 11 years of leading the program. There are also interim statuses at Quinnipiac (Mason Poli) and Holy Cross (Peter Burke), though those schools made the MAAC and Patriot League tournaments, respectively.
Copelan is moving on to become the boys’ lacrosse coach and major gifts officer for athletics advancement at Greenwich (Conn.) Country Day School. During his tenure, Copelan led the Stags to an 87-78 overall record and back-to-back CAA regular-season championships in 2014 and 2015.
