The move from Yale University to Fairfield University is just a 25-minute drive, but it’s still a big step for Andrew Baxter.
A defensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator and associate head coach at Yale for various periods across the past seven seasons, Baxter was named the next head coach of Fairfield men’s lacrosse earlier this week. He replaces Andy Copelan, who led the Stags for 11 seasons, but left in early May to become the boys’ lacrosse coach and major gifts officer for athletics advancement at Greenwich (Conn.) Country Day School.
A defensive-minded coach with ample experience on the sideline, Baxter is thrilled for the opportunity to lead a program for the first time.
