The Premier Lacrosse League season culminates in Philadelphia this weekend. The Utah Archers are back in a bid to repeat as league champions, while the Maryland Whipsnakes are in their fourth title game in the last six years.
The Archers dominated the Carolina Chaos in the semifinals, 10-1, preserving a shutout until the game’s final minute. The Whipsnakes won an instant-classic OT thriller over the New York Atlas, not holding the lead in the game until Levi Anderson hit the game-winning goal.
What to expect in Sunday's final (3 p.m.)? Start with offense vs. defense.
The Whipsnakes' offense is led by their attack. TJ Malone, a Rookie of the Year finalist, is the team’s leading scorer, flanked by veterans Matt Rambo and Zed Williams, both of whom have won an MVP.
